Area Police
Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they added.
Officers then located many other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police report early analysis show the fluid was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
An important political figure commented the incident rendered him without words and required to be addressed promptly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
